Norwood Scale

The Norwood scale is the predominant graphical representation of the basic seven levels of male hair loss. Depending on which image most closely represents your level of male pattern balding will give you a numerical designation of hair loss severity. The more severe the hair loss (Level IV and above) the harder it is to reverse, and the more apparent and visible the hair loss is. Men who are at the highest levels of hair loss on the Norwood scale usually have to take more dramatic measures, such as surgery, to regain their hairline, while men with less advanced stages of hair loss (Level I through III A) can more easily reverse their pattern hair loss. Procerin is most effective for men that are below a Level V on the Norwood scale.
